Hey Everyone! I just read all the new messages and am filled
with so much love and gratitude. I wish so much that there was
something I could do or say to show you all how much I appreciate
your love and concern. You are all amazing people and I am blessed
to know you or just to have read your sweet words of inspiration.
It would be so wonderful when I am free of cancer and back to
my normal self if we could all have a huge celebration and reunion!
That way I could meet all the wonderful people that I only know
through words on this website and see friends and family I haven't
seen in a long time. Anyways, it's so nice to be feeling better!
I know it is because of all of your prayers so I thank you all!
To share a little deeper part of me with you all, I have been
pretty emotional these past few days. My eyes are already filling
with tears just thinking about this. I truly believe that I
needed to get really sick this past week because through it,
I have grown closer to my Savior and I have seen deeper into
my amazing parents souls than I ever have. I was able to watch
a movie about Jesus Christ called The Testaments on Easter with
my sweet husband. It was amazing! It is so humbling to know
that the Savior has felt the pain I've felt and knows exactly
what I am going through. I have felt His embrace and know of
His love for me and every single one of us. It is hard to imagine
that that is possible but it brings me great comfort to have
that faith that has been instilled inside of me. Mom, I know
how much you wish you lived closer so you could come take care
of me more. Just know, though, that all you have done and are
doing mean the world to me. You always make sure I am doing
well and it is a blessing to know that you would drop everything
and drive all the way out here if I needed you to. You make
me feel so loved. I am grateful for the research you do to find
out information for me about my cancer and things I can do to
help my body be strong and fight. Everyday that you come out
to see me to take me out to lunch if I'm up to it, or make me
lunch and help me with my cleaning if I'm not feeling well,
I will cherish forever. I am grateful for the updates you do
to let friends and family know how I am doing and for letting
them know if I am in need of anything when they ask. I love
you so much, mom! You are an amazing example to me of charity
and unconditional love, as is dad. Thank you for always being
there for me. Dad, I just read your letter to me again and it
made me cry, like it always does. I love your daily phone calls
and texts. You make me feel so special when you call just to
tell me how much you love me and that you are thinking of me.
You always tell me about new people you've met or people you
already know that are praying for me and I am so grateful for
that. I am so happy I got to see you at Kira and Andrew's to
have dinner. That was the weekend I started getting sick but
I know it helped to be around you and everyone and have some
good laughs (Eric's electronic whoopee cushion) and talks. We
have to do it again soon! I look forward to the day when we
can record in your studio again. Thank you for giving me such
a strong love for music and singing. I miss singing so much
but have the faith that I will be able to sing again soon! Thank
you for being such a wonderful dad! You and mom are such wonderful
examples of people who don't judge others and I hope I can be
that kind of example too. You both see people for who they really
are and you choose to see the good in them and that is so refreshing
and inspiring. I love you all and thank you from the bottom
of my heart. |

COMMENTS: Hey Shelsi! It's
me, Shelsi! How you doin? How's the hospital food treating
you? It's gotta be getting old now, huh? Ok, I'll be serious
now. I just wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate
all of your kind comments, prayers, letters, balloons, flowers,
pajamas, labor, driving to visit, and any other sort of support
given. My heart is so full to think of how much everyone is
giving of themselves and their time and thinking and praying
for me. I am so deeply touched. You all are in my prayers
as well. I don't know how I would be taking this if it weren't
for my upbringing in the gospel, my faith in God and knowledge
of The Plan of Salvation, the many family and friends as well
as strangers who are praying for me and supporting me, doctors
and nurses, and all of the positive attitudes of everyone.
There is nothing I want more than for others who have trials
or may come upon trials in the future to be able to endure
them with just as much love and prayers as I have been so
very blessed to receive. I love you all and am eternally grateful
to you. I hope each and every one of you are doing well and
loving life like I am. |
