Shelsi & Eric
We had a great visit with you on Sunday!  First we went to Church where we were hugged & approached by your Ward family members who asked about your welfare.  Thankfully, Steve has done a great job keeping them informed on your progress from the Web site.  
Opening & closing prayers mentioned you indirectly (as there are many who need our prayers at this time).  We were told to call when we need help, etc.  The Spirit was felt very strongly in the music and talks on faith and strength from a firm foundation.
When Eric asked us to bring his clipper bag to the hospital (his trusty missionary set), we were a little unsure of what we’d see when we got there.  But there was Shelsi with her cute short haircut (no bald spots yet), her cute jammie set and just as happy as ever.  We walked down to the gift shop in the hospital to see if there was a cute hat or scarf (getting ready for next week) but they were a little too mature (old) looking.  It was nice to see Eric & Shelsi walking hand in hand and to enjoy their sweet nature.  Both of them are such a joy!  

We appreciate our personal family, our ward family (their fasting & prayers), the gospel, our Savior Jesus Christ and the support from all of our friends—that balances out the heavy burden of this tragic disease that Shelsi is battling with.
Eric’s favorite scripture that we have on his missionary plaque at home is Doctrine & Covenants 112:10 Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give answer to thy prayers.

Dearest Sweet Candy Shel,

I don't know what my life would be like without flossing! I always think of that when I floss now, since I have more recently understood the love of flossing just as you always have.

I am including your homepage text in a letter to Sister Lauren Kennard incase she can't access it in Germany, and so she can know how you are doing. But I told her also the part about how your heart is fine. I am so grateful for that! I put your name in the DC Temple, and I have had you in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I wasn't on the other end of the country because I would love to visit you. Hopefully someday we will be able to get together with our families and spend time together.

Joseph and I have continued to check this wonderful webcite your family is providing for all of us who want to know how you are doing through the whole ordeal. I am going to send you an email with some fun pictures in it, but I wanted to sign your guestbook98.

If I had enough hair I could donate it to you and you could be a red head!!! That would be excellent.

I just read the email updates your mom has been sending out.  We don't have internet in our apartment so I don't get to check it that often.  I'm so happy to hear that you're doing well and that the treatments have already been successful.  Kenny and I pray for you all the time as well as our friends and family. We know that you'll pull through because of your faith.  You have always had such great faith Shel and have always been so close to the Spirit.  Thank you for your continuous example.  I love you so much and we'll continue to keep you in our prayers.
