Hi Everyone,

So far so good. Other than being tired, obviously, Shel is handling everything very well. She got her first transfusion on Saturday when one of her blood counts dropped too fast, which is all par for the course. Today is the BIG day, she gets the transplant. That's supposed to start around noon. The doctor told us she won't notice anything for a couple of days, but around the 4th or 5th day post transplant is when she'll start feeling pretty bad.

One of the pictures is of a volunteer musician, Orville, I think was his name, and Shelsi singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow. I took a video of it with Shel's camera, so hopefully Shel & Eric will be able to post it on their blog soon.

Another picture is of Shelsi with Seda, Dr. Lill's nurse. She has been there with us every step of the way.

When I was with Shel on Friday I wanted to decorate her room for Easter so I went to Longs just up the street. There were no decorations for Easter other than the usual baskets, etc. I looked up and noticed that hanging from the ceiling were all these great decorations. I asked if they sold them there and was told no, but they would be happy to give me some. That's where the butterflies hanging on the wall came from.

Another picture is Shelsi holding some little Easter egg gifts sent to her by Lee, a friend of mine from work. Thank you so much for being so thoughtful Lee.

The weather on Easter weekend was absolutely beautiful. We had record breaking heat in Orange County which was really strange being so hot when from certain vantage points you can still see the local snow covered mountains. Weird dichotomy in Southern California, to be sure.

Peace and Blessings to All,

Sheri

Shelsi is the daughter of Sheri and Ric Hancock, and the wife of Eric Stolworthy. On Jan 25th, 2007, she was diagnosed with "Diffused Large B-cell lymphoma" -- in other words, Cancer. It manifested as an 14 cm mass in her chest that was pushing on her heart and constricting the blood flow to the rest of her body. She has completed her first round of Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments, but because a tumor was discovered in her brain it was necessary for her to undergo yet another round. She is now receiving radiation to the brain and if a subsequent MRI indicates she is free of cancer, she will undergo a stem-cell transplant. Her husband Eric, her parents Ric & Sheri and all the rest of her family and friends thank you dearly for all your prayers and support!
