Hi All,

Last night I had a silly dream about Shelsi having another brain surgery, only it was performed in a big mobile van kind of like the Red Cross Blood mobile. Dr. Chu was performing the surgery and after it was done we all walked away, including Shelsi, and she was fine. That left me with a great feeling, and also reminded me of a very special moment the night before Shelsi went in for her surgery. Dr. Chu had come into her room to explain what was going to happen the next day. As he was leaving he shook all of our hands and when Ric, Shelsi's daddy, shook his hand, he held onto it and said, "we have great faith in you because these are the hands of God." They were the hands of God and we are so blessed to have had such a great Surgeon.

Below, I've shared some pix of Shelsi that Kira took on Halloween at Cedars. Kira dressed up like Marilyn Monroe and brought her boys Tony & A.J. to visit for Halloween. One picture I took of her really resembles the crazy side of Marilyn I think.

Below is a link to an amazing story of a woman who turned her life around after her cancer diagnosis. Her efforts have lead to a great push to change the treatment of cancer patients by treating the whole person, not just the cancer, through an initiative called the Urban Zen Initiative. As a disclaimer I must warn you that you will hear her anger thru some pretty intense profanity, and as offensive as it might be, it was her way of dealing with it. Check it out when you have a chance. I plan on trying to get involved with this initiative when time permits.

Shelsi is still in good spirits and should be released from Cedars tomorrow after completing round 5 of treatment. Only 3 more to go and she's done. They are arranging to have the full body scans, including the head, done on the 7th visit, so in about a month we will know where she stands.

One last thing. I have a letter coming out in the Thousand Oaks Acorn next Thursday that is in reply to another letter to the editor. The story involves Shelsi. Some of you may remember what happened to her as a junior in High School when she brought Jamin's car to school and then lost the keys only to discover he had a knife on the key ring with a locking blade. You'll have to read the story to get the details. Next Thursday just go to, www.toacorn.com

Much love and gratitude to all.

Shelsi is the daughter of Sheri and Ric Hancock, and the wife of Eric Stolworthy. On Jan 25th, 2007, she was diagnosed with "Diffused Large B-cell lymphoma" -- in other words, Cancer. It manifested as an 14 cm mass in her chest that was pushing on her heart and constricting the blood flow to the rest of her body. She has completed her first round of Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments, but because a tumor was discovered in her brain it was necessary for her to undergo yet another round. She is now receiving radiation to the brain and if a subsequent MRI indicates she is free of cancer, she will undergo a stem-cell transplant. Her husband Eric, her parents Ric & Sheri and all the rest of her family and friends thank you dearly for all your prayers and support!
