Hi Everyone,

Well, we've decided this time it's for real. The Shelsi & Laynes Legacy Fundraising event will end July 31, 2007. Whether we reach our goal of $5,000 or not in the next 2 weeks, Steve has decided to shave his head anyway so he can be nice and cool for the remainder of summer. So far we've raised about $3,150. THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE WHO HAS DONATED!

As you may have read in the last update from her, Shelsi is now in her 2 nd week of radiation treatment, and so far it's been a piece of cake. She has 2 more weeks after this one to go. Tomorrow morning it's back to Cedars for another complete full body PET scan, which WILL tell us she is in remission. As far as we know they will continue with the remaining radiation treatments even though the scan shows no more mass is visible. It's a precaution to make sure they don't miss anything that may be hiding. Evidently it's easier if you get it all the first time, rather than have to retreat if it comes back.

Shelsi is still her amazing self, as is evident in the pix we sent with her update. She is teaching us all so much about facing trials with grace and humility. What she writes and what you see in pictures, is what she shows us all, not just for the camera, or for the update. She truly is handling this challenge as if nothing in her life has changed. She's always been a little bit of a worrier, and still is, but it doesn't seem to be about her health. It's usually about Eric and how hard he works, making sure she gets her Avon orders in on time, and calling or e-mailing family and friends back who have tried to reach her but couldn't.

They say if you want something to become a reality in your life, then you must act as if it already is. Shelsi, by her very nature, is automatically doing that by acting and believing she is cancer free. She is going through the motions prescribed by her doctor, but her language and thoughts don't seem to contain the "c" word.

As her course of treatment nears the end let's join her whole heartedly in that way of thinking. Especially for the remainder of today, (Tuesday) and tonight, before her scan tomorrow, send your prayers, loving thoughts, blessed intentions, and most positive energy her way with only one thing in mind; a completely clear, clean, healthy, and whole, Shelsi.

Shelsi and Eric on there way to a 7/7/07 wedding

Shelsi is the daughter of Sheri and Ric Hancock, and the wife of Eric Stolworthy. On Jan 25th she was diagnosed with "Diffused Large B-cell lymphoma" -- in other words, Cancer. It manifested as an 14 cm mass in her chest that was pushing on her heart and constricting the blood flow to the rest of her body. She has completed her Chemotherapy treatments and has begun Radiation. All indications are that she is doing much better and is well on the way to full recovery. Her husband Eric, her parents Ric & Sheri and all the rest of her family and friends thank you dearly for all your prayers and support!
