Things change quickly in our world – so here is the latest update on Shelsi. When she and Eric got to the cancer center this morning they checked her white count and it was still very low. She had also been running a fever of 103 this morning, so they postponed her session until next Wednesday, April 11. They did draw some blood to run more tests in hopes of isolating where the fever is coming from. Nothing in her current labs gave them a clue. She and Eric will go back on Friday for those results and another test to see if her white count has risen at all.

The GOOD NEWS is the conclusion written by the radiologist who read her latest chest x-ray says “Elevation of the right hemidiaphragm and density in the right anterior chest wall are much improved in appearance when compared to previous studies.” And also “there has been significant improvement in the right upper lobe.” I guess that means they can see more of her right lung now and less of the mass. YEA!

I had a nice talk with Dr. Lill's nurse and apologized for being so obsessive lately. I explained how I feel so helpless and want to be proactive in Shelsi's care right now. Being two hours away makes it difficult, so I've had a tendency to put everything the Doctor's and nurses are doing under my own microscope to make sure they are giving her the best care possible and that nothing falls through the cracks. In doing so, I've become quite a nuisance and probably haven't helped matters. Fortunately, Seda, the nurse, completely understood and assured me my actions are very normal for a mom with a child who has cancer.

So, I need to walk my talk, and continue to see and believe in my heart and soul the following: A healthy, vibrant, full of Life & Light Shelsi, living out her long life, and following her dreams.

Peace and Blessings to ALL

Shelsi is the daughter of Sheri and Ric Hancock, and the wife of Eric Stolworthy. On Jan 25th she was diagnosed with "Diffused Large B-cell lymphoma" -- in other words, Cancer. It manifested as an 14 cm mass in her chest that was pushing on her heart and constricting the blood flow to the rest of her body. Now she is out of Intensive Care but is still undergoing Chemotherapy treatments. Her husband Eric, her parents Ric & Sheri and all the rest of her family and friends thank you dearly for all your prayers and support!
