I spent Sunday night and all day Monday with Shelsi. We watched the new series, Planet Earth on the Discovery Channel Sunday night, which was awesome. Monday, after doing some shopping and having lunch at Toppers Pizza, Shel took a little nap while I watched Hidalgo, which was also awesome. Her Brother Jamin came over after work Monday night and took us all to dinner at a nice little Chinese restaurant in Camarillo. On my way home, I realized that I left my camera there which has some really cute pix of Shel, Shel and Eric, and Shel and Jamin. As soon as I get my camera back I'll post them to the website (or maybe by then Steve will have the photo ablum working:-) For now, I've attached an 'old' picture of Sheli with her siblings.

She was doing very well and hadn't had any side effects from her round of Chemo on Wednesday. However onTuesday after I left, it hit her again and she felt pretty wiped out. (I went there to help her out, but probably wore her out with all the running around we did:-( The Cancer Center at Cedars scheduled her for an appointment to get blood work done Wednesday morning to see if she needed an immune boosting shot of Neulasta. So she and Eric got up very early and drove down there. When they got there all they did was prick her finger to draw the blood. Then they waited - and waited - and waited. When they finally asked what was taking so long they were told no one knew they had been waiting. Fortunately the good news was, her counts were REALLY good and she didn't need the shot. After finding that out they had to drive all the way back to Camarillo which is, at best, an hour and a half drive.

Other than that there isn't a lot to tell. No word yet on how many more treatments, or when they will be able to do the next images to see how much of the mass is gone. She still has to wear the heart monitor 24/7 and we aren't sure how long that will last either.

I think people are concerned about wearing her out, so she doesn't get many visitors. But I think she is pretty bored being at home all day every day, and would enjoy some short visits - they would be a nice diversion for her:-) Especially since her immune system is not compromised. Of course if you're sick or contagious in any way please wait until your'e better. Her email address is on the website under contact us.

We are still working on adding some new things to the website but Steve has been very busy with a project at work and hasn't had anytime at all lately to put towards the site. His project is almost over, so this weekend - hopefully - the Shelsi Sentinel will be New and Improved:-)

Love again to all of you for your continued support in whatever form it comes in. I would like to especially thank Lew and Lorrie (Eric's parents) for the love and support they are giving Shelsi now. It's difficult being so far away from her where I can't just hop in the car and drop by to help when it's needed. Knowing they are there eases my mind a lot.

Kira - Jamin - Shelsi on Thanksgiving of 2006

Shelsi is the daughter of Sheri and Ric Hancock, and the wife of Eric Stolworthy. On Jan 25th she was diagnosed with "Diffused Large B-cell lymphoma" -- in other words, Cancer. It manifested as an 14 cm mass in her chest that was pushing on her heart and constricting the blood flow to the rest of her body. Now she is out of Intensive Care but is still undergoing Chemotherapy treatments. Her husband Eric, her parents Ric & Sheri and all the rest of her family and friends thank you dearly for all your prayers and support!
