Hi Everyone,

There's a lot to report and I only have a few minutes (I'm using the medical library at the hospital) so I will give you the highlights here and then another post will be done this weekend in more detail. I am here at the hospital with Shelsi now and once again she has played the musical beds game. Monday night was one of the worst nights she's had, heart wise. Her and Eric got very little sleep due to the alarms going off every few minutes because of palpitations of her heart. Shel was pretty upset and her sweet spirit took a, perhaps justifiable little journey into anger where she envisioned taking a baseball bat to the monitors :-0

Tuesday night she slept like a baby and her heart behaved itself all night long. In fact, it was so good they moved her once again to another floor where she is only hooked up to a portable heart monitor so she can get up and move around the floor. She's now on the Saperstien Critical Care 3rd floor room # 3S68.

She loves her new room which has a great view of the Hollywood sign, Jerry's Famous Deli and the snowy mountains. Last night was a great night too. Shelsi and I have a theory as to what calmed her heart down and facilitated the good night's sleep and it has to do with a book of inspirational stories written by Thomas S. Monson. A friend from Church, Mike Seas (sp - sorry if I spelled your last name wrong Mike) loaned it to her. More on this later.

A very exciting thing happened yesterday and we will have pictures and the whole story posted this weekend, but Shel was asked to be interviewed on a documentary that Cedars Sinai is doing about their volunteers. The whole camera crew came in with the director of volunteers and one of Shel's favorite volunteer musicians, Les July. She looked beautiful and handled the interview with amazing grace. More on this later, with pictures...

There's been a little complication with some blood clots in some veins so she is now on a heparin drip. Other than that things are looking good. She will start her next round of chemo next Wednesday and we are still not sure if they will keep her here for that full course. We should know more soon.

Thanks again to our Angel network worldwide. We love you all so much.

Pretty In Pink

Shelsi is the daughter of Sheri and Ric Hancock, and the wife of Eric Stolworthy. On Jan 25th she was diagnosed with "Diffused Large B-cell lymphoma" -- in other words, Cancer. It manifested as an 14 cm mass in her chest that was pushing on her heart and constricting the blood flow to the rest of her body. Now she is out of Intensive Care but is still undergoing Chemotherapy treatments. Her husband Eric, her parents Ric & Sheri and all the rest of her family and friends thank you dearly for all your prayers and support!
