| [Sunday,
February 25, 2007] It’s been difficult having to stay
away from Shelsi the past few days due to my being sick. It’s
times like these when I realize there’s nothing a mother wouldn’t
do for her child, including giving her life. In my pleadings with
God I’ve bartered – “pass this on to me and make
her whole again” I’ve said. When I started to get sick
I wondered if he was taking me up on my offerJ and the thought filled
me with joy to think in an instant she could be healed. But then
I realized that’s not how our perfect universe works. An eye
for an eye justice is not how God works and it is not required to
take one life to spare another. There is abundant life and health
to go around.
What we all, who deeply love Shelsi, do with this
trial is up to us. It is not the events in our lives that transform
us, but how we react to those events. The love and bonding that
is transpiring over this one beautiful soul named Shelsi is magnificent!
We are witnessing humanity at its best. To maintain this kind of
caring and feeling in our lives everyday could heal the world –
one precious soul at a time.
Love, Sheri
P.S. In case you don’t already know –
Shelsi is back in the Saperstein Critical Care unit (Same room as
before 5S62) where they can monitor her heart more closely again.
